Why, why, why does BART require a minimum $2 ticket value to enter the system? If my card has $1.75 remaining, and I am running a bit late, why do I have to stop and put in 25 cents before I can get on... why not just pay the Add-a-fare at my destination?
That's a very unfriendly system... I was unaware of this inane BART $2 minimum policy, and recently missed a train while fumbling for some change and waiting in line at the ticket machine, then was 20 minutes late for work, due to this -- So now, I avoid BART whenever possible -- I do have a choice at Millbrae, I can take BART or I can use Caltrain to get to the city.
Caltrain is cheaper, faster, cleaner, better smelling, and much, much quieter, too! -- Why do BART cars often have that filthy, stale urine stench? Why does BART squeal at ear-splitting noise levels on so many sections of track?
If you don't care, BART, then I will find alternative routes whenever possible and avoid BART.
I'll walk an extra mile, or ride a bike 10 miles, rather than ride BART!
